Perth County OPP Detachment Police Services Board

That the Perth County OPP Detachment Board elects Todd Kasenberg as the Chair of the Perth County OPP Detachment Board for the duration of the current board term, being a one-year term ending in November 2026.

That the Perth County OPP Detachment Board elects Jerry Smith as the Vice Chair of the Perth County OPP Detachment Board for the duration of the current board term, being a one-year term ending in November 2026.

That the Perth County OPP Detachment Board approves the February 10, 2026 agenda as amended.

That the minutes of the January 13, 2026 meeting of the Perth County OPP Detachment Board be approved.

That the Perth County OPP Detachment Board directs staff to compose a letter directed to the Solicitor General, OPP Headquarters, MPP Matthew Rae, and Inspector Stewart with respect to improvement of the performance times related to Police Record Checks and the establishment of service standards for response times.

That the Perth County OPP Detachment Board directs staff to prepare a media release on behalf of the Board pertaining to emergency road closures and emphasizing to the community the importance of respecting road closure signage, public safety as well as the safety of officers and first responders.

That the Perth County OPP Detachment Board approves the January 2026 Perth County OPP Detachment Report as presented.

That the Perth County OPP Detachment Board directs staff to provide additional information and confirmation as to whether the vehicle is utilized as a police response vehicle or strictly for administrative purposes.

That the Perth County OPP Detachment Board send correspondence to the County of Perth and the four lower-tier municipalities to initiate discussions regarding the implementation of automated road closure signs; and That staff be directed to send a formal invitation to the CAOs of the four lower-tier municipalities, the CAO of the County of Perth, the CAO of the City of Stratford, the County Emergency Management Coordinator, Inspector Stewart, local Fire Chiefs, Emergency Services representatives, and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), inviting them to a meeting with designated representatives of the Perth County OPP Detachment Board—specifically Chair Todd Kasenberg and Vice Chair Jerry Smith —to review and discuss the proposed initiative; and further, That all lower-tier municipalities be encouraged to review their current signage to ensure that it is compliant with the Highway Traffic Act.
